Huomisen kadut by Laki & Järjestys will be released on digi platforms 23 June.

Huomisen kadut (Streets of Tomorrow) is the first single from Laki & Järjestys new album “Uusi aika” (New Era), which wil be released in 2022.

Songwriter Ismo (L.A.M.F), how did you end up giving the song to L&J?

Ismo: The song was written around 1996. It was supposed to be on the fourth L.A.M.F. album, which never came out.

The song ended up on L&J record when I found an old L.A.M.F. demo. I thought I’d give it to my old friend Jussi for possible re-use. Huomisen kadut was the only track that was nearly finished on the demo and thus usable for recording and I think L&J did a good job in bringing it to the 2020s.

What’s the song about?

Ismo: It tells about a time when the digital era and the surveillance cameras, etc. were starting to have an effect on everyday life. Of course, I had read Orwell and that’s where the term “isoveli valvoo” (Big brother is watching you”) on the lines of the song comes from.

Flashback time: We put out D’Corner Bois/Barse -split CD in 2008. It was a co-effort with us, and the English labels Punk Shit Records and Savage Amusement. None of the labels put a catalog number on it, and for various reasons, the release was pretty much abandoned. For a thorough review of the CD scroll down the page at Punkrocker.org.uk and for the CD (6 EUR + postage) write at office at hellstonerecords dot com. D’Corner Bois has got their best and final(?) stuff here and they’ve been compared to Contempt. Barse -side was compiled by S.A. and contains previously unreleased demo songs, Better Be Ready 7″ and the songs from the Heartbuns -split 7″. Memories are so golden here, we will recommend this right now to everyone who listens to punk rock.
